FINAL PERFORMANCES TAKE PLACE ON AUG. 21 IN VIEUX FORT, AND AUG. 24 AT THE NATIONAL CULTURAL CENTRE.

The much-anticipated climax to the Cultural Development Foundation’s (CDF) annual Youth Summer Arts Platform (YSAP) is back, offering young, aspiring artists a unique opportunity to showcase their talent and creativity. The programme's exciting Production Day is titled "Ascension Legacy". This final performance will take place on Wednesday, August 21st at the Vieux Fort Primary School and on Saturday, August 24th at the National Cultural Centre, both starting at 3:00 PM. Tickets are $10.00 for children (16 years and under) and $30.00 for adults. These showcases will highlight the skills and knowledge the youth have acquired during the programme, with performances and exhibits demonstrating their growth in various art forms.

The CDF’s flagship youth engagement initiative, YSAP, is designed to nurture Saint Lucia's cultural legacy through education and inclusion and provides an immersive, fun-filled summer experience for youth ages 7 to 17. Youth Summer Arts Platform was held in the Northern and Southern districts this year, allowing for greater community engagement. The programme offered a structured curriculum where participants were engaged in various art forms that foster creativity, enhance learning, and celebrate Saint Lucia's rich cultural heritage. This initiative not only introduces youth to the arts but also provides a historical perspective, allowing them to deepen their connection with local traditions and values. One significant highlight was the transmission of the Bèlè traditions.

“We are committed to creating a platform where young people can express their talents, explore new art forms, and gain insights into the rich tapestry of our culture,” said Anthony Wilkie Jr, Senior Training, Promotions and Development Officer at CDF. “YSAP is more than just an arts program; it’s an opportunity to cultivate future cultural ambassadors of Saint Lucia.”

Youth Summer Arts Platform Production Day: Ascension Legacy - promises to be an unforgettable experience for young people who have a genuine interest in the arts and patrons. Through this programme, they will leave not only with newfound skills but also with a deeper appreciation for Saint Lucia's cultural heritage.
