SAINT LUCIANS ARE ENCOURAGED TO WEAR AFRICAN ATTIRE ON MONDAY, SEP. 9, TO HONOUR OUR SHARED HERITAGE.
On September 7, 2024, Saint Lucia celebrated CARICOM-Africa Day, highlighting the growing collaboration between CARICOM and Africa, two regions connected by history, resilience, and shared goals.

Both regions have faced adversity and have overcome challenges through unity and determination. One clear example of this partnership's success is the US$6 million loan from the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) to Saint Lucia, which will be used to rebuild schools affected by climate events.

CARICOM and Africa are united by a commitment to progress through collective action. From trade and investment to cultural exchange, this partnership leverages our shared strengths to address pressing challenges and create lasting solutions for future generations.

On Monday, September 9, 2024, the Saint Lucian public is encouraged to dress in vibrant African attire to honour our shared heritage and the strength of our unity. Our nations, shaped by resilience and vision, have always known that true progress is built on mutual understanding and bold partnerships.
