The Ciceron Grassroots Football Programme officially concluded its successful 5-week training programme with a Closing Ceremony on December 20, 2025 at the Ciceron R C Combined School.
The programme which provided structured football training and mentorship to youth within the community, and had initially targeted 40 participants, witnessed a collective turnout of over 50 students from Ciceron and the Goodlands area.
During the ceremony, Javan Lewis, Chairperson of the Ciceron Grassroots Football Committee, remarked that he was proud to see the keen participation of the students during the programme. He also expressed his gratitude to the parents for consenting to their children’s participation and pledged his continued support to them.
The ceremony also featured remarks from Dr. Elphege Brown, former President of the
Ciceron Seagulls Club, who encouraged the students to continue practicing the sporting and life skills that they learnt, informing them that they are the new generation of Ciceron Seagulls and should take pride in the name.
The prize giving ceremony featured many awards across categories which evaluated the participants’ athletic aptitude and sporting attitudes. Among these were the prestigious
Ciceron Seagulls Trailblazers Award for Girls in Sports which went to Alayna Alphonso and Amelyah Alphonso, as well as the Ciceron Seagulls Rising Star Award which was awarded to Joshua James.
