Hewanorra International Airport simulation exercise

THE SIMULATION IS BEING CONDUCTED TO MEET SAFETY REQUIREMENTS MANDATED BY ICAO.

The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) wishes to inform residents, businesses, and those in the vicinity of the Hewanorra International Airport, that a Full-Scale Emergency Simulation Exercise will take place at the airport on November 22, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Please note that activities observed around the airport on this date are part of the exercise, and there is no need for alarm.

This simulation is being conducted to meet safety requirements mandated by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). As a result, flight operations will be suspended from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the day of the exercise.

Furthermore, the main road from Coconut Bay junction to Uptown Liquor Store will be closed during the exercise, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Motorists are kindly asked to cooperate with the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force's Traffic Department for traffic management during this period.
