Police officers successfully complete basic Mandarin course

THE COURSE CREATES AN AVENUE TO INCREASE COMMUNICATION AND CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING BY OVERCOMING LANGUAGE BARRIERS.
The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) arranged a Basic Mandarin course that took place from Thursday, June 29, 2023, to Thursday, 8 March, 2024. Five (5) Police Officers and one senior member of civilian staff successfully completed the course and were awarded certificates during a closing ceremony held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
 
The Basic Mandarin Course offered a comprehensive exploration of Mandarin. Participants gained knowledge in Pinyin, greetings, family conversations, occupations, and practical conversational abilities. Furthermore, the course covered fundamental language components, including numbers, dates, and geographical locations.
 
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force expresses gratitude to The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for facilitating this course. The participating personnel have gained an opportunity to delve into the rich world of Mandarin. By creating an avenue to overcome language barriers, this collaboration will foster effective communication and cultural understanding.
